PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect catching device that is used in the open air, weatherproof, simple and can maintain the effect of the insect catching device set on a tree for a long period of time and a using method therefor.SOLUTION: Side mat boards 3 are continuously arranged at both sides of right and left side portions of a base mat board 1 via gussets 2, adhesives 4 and 4a are applied onto front faces 1a and 3a of the mat boards while a spacer member 5 is arranged in the adhesive 4 on the front face 1a of the base mat board 1. When an insect catching device is not used, the side mat boards 3 are folded on the spacer member 5, when the insect catching device is set on a tree trunk, in a state in which the side mat boards 3 are opened, the faces of the adhesives 4 and 4a of the base mat board 1 and the side mat boards 3 are opposed to a tree and the upper part of the spacer member 5 is contacted with the surface of the tree, the ends of the base mat board 1 and the side mat boards 3 positioned at the upper side of the tree are wound on the tree and the wound parts are fixed on the tree with an adhesive tape, or the like. |
