PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for communicating audio information onboard an aircraft from the aircraft to a computer system at a ground location.SOLUTION: The method comprises: obtaining an audio input from an audio input device onboard the aircraft (step 202); generating text data comprising a textual representation of one or more words of the audio input (step 204); and communicating the text data along with real-time flight data to the computer system at the ground location (step 212).
