PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy and good electroplating of a rod-shaped article with uniform thickness in a sliding contact type.SOLUTION: In a method for performing electroplating of the rod-shaped article in the sliding contact type, the rod-shaped article 1 is hung with both ends placed in non-conductive cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides respectively, by the cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides, but the central part is not covered with the cylindrical bodies 2. The cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides are immersed in a plating liquid, so that the rod-shaped article 1 hung by the cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides and a rod-shaped or projection-shaped cathode 3 arranged in the cylindrical body 2 on one side or both sides are immersed in the plating liquid. The cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides are rotated around the axes 4 and 5 along the hanging direction of the rod-shaped article 1. Thus, the rod-shaped article 1 hung by the cylindrical bodies 2 on both sides is moved while rotated in the plating liquid and brought into sliding contact with the rod-shaped or projection-shaped cathode 3. |
