<p>There is provided a cutting insert comprising at least one cutting edge (5), a rake face (2) extending from the cutting edge (5), a flank (3) intersecting with the rake face (2) by having the cutting edge (5) therebetween, a concave portion (6) recessed downward of the rake face (2) at the backward of the rake face (2) as viewed from the cutting edge (5), and at least one projection (7) projecting upward from a bottom face (6a) of the concave portion (6), wherein an entirety of the projection is positioned under an extension surface of the rake face (2), and at least a part of a top face of the projection is away from an extension surface of the rake face as it goes away from the cutting edge.</p> |
