<p>Electronic ballast has alternating current output side (M) lamp connection (KL1) which is galvanically separated from alternating current output of converter (S1,S2) by means of isolation capacitor (C1). Lamp connection (KL2) is attached to one of the supply unit potentials (N,P) of the converter is galvanically separated from the supply unit potential by means of an isolation capacitor (C2). The converter and the low pressure discharge lamp (LA) are coupled in alternating current manner.
