<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce total power consumption entirely in a plurality of video recording devices connected to a network. <P>SOLUTION: The recording device control apparatus 10 collects performance information including power consumption per unit time required for video recording processing in each video recording device 20 from a plurality of video recording devices 20 connected over a network, and also collects reservation information showing recording reservation contents registered in each video recording device 20. Moreover, the video recording device 20 to execute video recording processing of a recording reservation associated to each reservation information item is determined in such a way that total power consumption required for video recording processing of recording reservations associated to the collected reservation information items can be made less than total power consumption in the case where video recording processing is performed in a recording reservation associated to each reservation information item while using the video recording device 20 from which the reservation information item has been collected.
