PURPOSE: A monitoring apparatus of differential signal line of a car and a method thereof is provided to prevent a system malfunction according to disconnection previously by identifying disconnection occurrence of a signal line connecting a camera unit and an image processing unit. CONSTITUTION: A discharge control circuit (132) which is connected to the above mentioned differential signal line and initializes the above mentioned differential signal line by discharging the charged remanent charge in a differential signal line of a car during the time of no output of a differential input signal as an analog type from a camera for vehicle; and a micom (136) which is connected to the above mentioned differential signal line, converts a differential input signal of analog type input through a differential signal line into a differential input signal of digital format in the state where a differential signal line is initialized, and monitors a disconnection occurrence of a differential signal line according to the digital value of a differential input signal transformed to a digital format.
