PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of water glass heat insulating material and a water glass heat insulating material are provided to improve insulation coefficient of the water glass heat insulating material and mix foamed sodium silicate polymer in a particle state. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of water glass heat insulating material comprises next steps: mixing water glass and alcohol which is a modification treatment; evaporating from the gel type sodium silicate polymer in natural state; foaming the evaporated gel sodium silicate polymer after heating; pulverizing the foamed sodium silicate polymer into pieces; mixing the particles with the silicate glass; mixing alcohol with the mixture; drying the mixture until the mixture becomes gel; drying the desiccated mixture by placing the mixture in a mold frame; and solidifying the molded insulating material.
