MULTI-SECTION LASER DIODE

PURPOSE: A multi-section laser diode is provided to eliminate leakage current by implementing a function of a photo-detector. CONSTITUTION: A multi-section laser diode (100) comprises a plurality of anodes (110,115), a cathode electrode, and an active area (130). The plurality of the anodes receives current and is located on a P-type semiconductor (120). The cathode electrode eliminates the leakage current and is located on an N-type semiconductor (140). The active area is located between the P-type semiconductor and the N-type semiconductor.
