The method involves controlling interruption of a drive train (109) when a driving element i.e. accelerator pedal, is moved to a driving position according to total stroke of the driving element. Decoupling of an engine and driving wheels of a vehicle is controlled (110). A value of a position of the driving element is received (100), and the received value of the position of the driving element is compared (101, 104, 107) with a threshold value. A control signal for interruption of the driving element is generated according to a comparison result.
