The invention relates to a method for characterizing an encapsulation layer (12) of a lithium microbattery (14), comprising a step of measuring (F2) the electric resistance R of an electrode containing lithium, and a step of comparing (F3) the electric resistance of the electrode to a threshold Rth representative of a predetermined sealing level of the encapsulation layer.
