PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of reducing a data counting amount of photons.SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus includes a detector, a data collecting unit, a collection controlling unit, and an image reconstructing unit. The detector detects X-rays that have passed through a subject. The data collecting unit, for each of predetermined energy bands, counts photons having energy included in a predetermined energy band, from among photons derived from the X-rays detected by the detector. The collection controlling unit controls the data collecting unit in such a manner that energy bands including energy which the photons representing substances of non-interest have are each larger than an energy band including energy which the photons representing a substance of interest have, in accordance with an image taking condition under which the subject is imaged. The image reconstructing unit reconstructs an X-ray CT image by using a counting result obtained by the data collecting unit controlled by the collection controlling unit. |
