PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation transmission device, excellent in responsiveness and configured to be operated precisely without the incorrect engagement of a two-way clutch.SOLUTION: By applying a current to an electromagnet 53 of an electromagnetic clutch 50, a control retainer 16B forming a two-way clutch 10 is made to move in the axial direction, and a control retainer 16A and a rotating retainer 16B, which do not follow the movement, are made to rotate in a relative manner in a direction in which the circumferential width of a pocket 27 becomes smaller, thereby causing a pair of rollers 15 to disengage with the inner periphery of an outer ring 11 and the outer periphery of an inner ring 13. A spring holder 45, which adjoins an axial end of the inner ring 13 and prevents the control retainer 16A and the rotation retainer 16B from rotating in a relative manner in the direction in which the circumferential width of the pocket 27 becomes smaller from the center position of the rollers 15, is fixed to an input shaft 1, preventing the spring holder 45 from moving in the axial direction, thereby preventing the two-way clutch from incorrectly engaging. The inner ring 13 is integrally formed with the input shaft 1, thereby eliminating rattling of the inner ring 13, and preventing a delay in a rotation transmission response from the input shaft 1 to an output shaft 2. |
