The invention discloses a medical TFT instrument of bipolar design having at least two electrodes, held by electrode carriers which are movable relative to each other, which can each be charged with HF current via a supply line. According to the invention, the instrument is additionally provided with a safety switch mechanism arranged in the region of the electrode carriers and interconnected in at least one of the supply lines, said safety switch mechanism being moved to an off or disconnect position when at least one of the electrode carriers is transferred to a non-functional position/situation, thereby interrupting an HF current supply to the electrode associated with said supply line. |
