The invention relates to a nebulizer device (20) including an aerosol generator (2) having a screen (7) combined with an inhalation chamber (21) consisting of three openings (22, 23, 24) and a single one-way exhalation valve (12). The resistance and relative position of said openings enable the inhaled- and exhaled-air circuits in the device to be separated from one another. The use of openings having different resistances also enables strong resistance to inhalation and low resistance to exhalation, which results in a reduction in the inhalation rate, in a reduction in oropharyngeal deposition, and in an increase in pulmonary deposition. The invention therefore enables an increase not only in the output of the aerosol-generating system, but also in the efficiency of aerosol deposition in the lungs.
