COMPUTER SYSTEM AND LOGICAL STORAGE REGION MANAGEMENT METHOD

The aim of the present invention is to provide a computer system capable of constructing shared storage having a fault-tolerant function, using ordinary computers. The computer system comprises a plurality of computers. Such a computer has:a redundancy processing section thatgenerates a logical storage regionusing a storage region provided byrespective storage media of the plurality of computers;and a service provision section that provides the aforementioned serviceusing the logical storage region.The redundancy processing section generatesthe logical storage region usinga storage region provided by the storage media ofa main system computer and auxiliary system computer;generates redundancy information includingthe correspondence relationship of the logical storage regionand the storage media of the main system computer and auxiliary system computerconstituting the logical storage region, writes the redundancy information in the storage media of the main system computer and auxiliary system computer, provides a logical storage region to the service provision section, gives instructions for initiation of the service, and, when an access request is received, accesses the logical storage region by referencing the redundancy information.
