A socket assembly comprising a body and a cover, the body defining a socket for removably receiving a plug, wherein the cover is slidable with respect to the body between an open state, in which it exposes a mouth of said socket to allow insertion or removal of said plug, and a closed state in which it at least partially closes the mouth. The cover is less prone to damage than conventional hinged covers and is easier to replace since the old one can be slidably removed and a new one slidably fitted (without the need to remove the body from the wall). The cover does not flap in the wind or when, for example, a vehicle is moving and is well suited to being fixed to a surface by adhesive. |
