<p>A spacing device for spacing a fixing surface of a furniture item from a target surface to which the furniture item is to be fixed comprises a first end 307 for contacting one of the fixing surface and the target surface, a second end 306 for contacting the other of the fixing surface and the target surface and a bore 305 dimensioned to receive a fixing means for fixing the fixing surface and the target surface together.
