A liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to adjust a viewing angle in vertical and horizontal directions without forming a white pixel, by forming a display control area and a viewing angle control area in one pixel without increasing a mask process. A vertical alignment type liquid crystal display device has a display picture formed of a group of pixels. Each pixel has a display control area(10) controlled in alignment to incline liquid crystal molecules in an inclination direction, and a viewing angle control area(20) controlled in alignment to incline liquid crystal molecules in a vertical direction or in a horizontal direction, and receiving a control voltage through a common line(30) used in common with the display control area. |
