PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feature extraction device capable of extracting a feature amount having a high identification possibility while preventing increase of processing load.SOLUTION: A feature extraction device 10 includes: a comparison target pixel obtaining section 433 that obtains pixel values of plural comparison target pixels included in the vicinity area thereof with respect to an image taken by using a lens, in which pixels in all or a part of pixels of the image are processed as target pixels and a ring like area around the target pixel is processed a vicinity area; a pixel difference calculation section 434 that calculates a difference between the pixel value of the target pixel and the pixel value of each of the comparison target pixels; and a local binary pattern generation section 435 that generates a local binary pattern which represents whether each of the difference of the pixel values is larger than a predetermined threshold value with respect to each pixel of the plural comparison target pixels using a bit value. Each target pixel has plural vicinity areas, and the distance of the plural vicinity areas is a distance determined based on spatial frequency characteristics of the lens. |
