PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently advance the combustion of PM (Particulate matter) accumulated on a particulate filter.SOLUTION: A catalyst layer 7 of the exhaust gas passage wall of the filter contains: Zr-Nd complex oxide wherein NdOcontent is 5 mol.% or above and 30 mol.% or below; Zr-Nd-Pr complex oxide wherein PrOcontent is 10 mol.% or above and 35 mol.% or below; and a catalyst metal. The mixing ratio between Zr-Nd complex oxide and Zr-Nd-Pr complex oxide is, by mass, 70:30 to 10:90.
