PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spading method capable of forming a fin with predetermined height by a less amount of cutting, and to provide a spading bite used for the same.SOLUTION: In the spading method, the bite 1 is pressed to an outer peripheral surface 5a or to an inner peripheral surface of a metal pipe 5, and the bite 1 is rotated around the center axis of the metal pipe 5 to spade the fin 11 for heat transfer on the outer peripheral surface 5a or the inner peripheral surface of the metal pipe 5. A rake face of the bite 1 is made to correspond to the radial direction of the metal pipe, and is arranged to be displaced by 0.5-3.0 mm to the rotation direction side of the bite 1. A front cutting blade 6 of the bite 1 is made to cut at a shallow cutting angle of 22-26° with respect to the axial direction of the outer peripheral surface or the inner peripheral surface of the metal pipe. |
