PURPOSE: An item price setting method and a system thereof are provided to determine a maximal price and a minimal price corresponding to a commission rate and consume cyber money of traders in a transaction of the same item, thereby preventing an illegal transaction of the cyber money. CONSTITUTION: An item transaction price setting system sets a market price for an item by receiving information for a transaction price of the item from an item transaction server (S10). The item transaction price setting system receives information for a commission rate of a price range which the market price is included (S20). The item transaction price setting system sets a maximal price and a minimal price of a sale price, which is selected by a user, in the item transaction by using the market price and the information for the commission rate (S30).
