PURPOSE: An avatar transition device between virtual worlds and a method are provided to generate an avatar of a second virtual world by using an attribute of a first virtual world, an attribute of the second virtual world, and an attribute of an avatar of the first virtual world, thereby enabling a user to use the avatar, which is similar to the existing avatar, in other virtual worlds. CONSTITUTION: An attribute information extraction unit (210) extracts a set of common attribute information used in a second virtual world from a set of attribute information of an avatar of a first virtual world. An attribute information conversion unit (220) converts the remaining attribute information into the attribute information corresponding to the second virtual world by using the attribute information of the second virtual world of which similarity with the remaining attribute information is high. An avatar generation unit (230) generates an avatar in the second virtual world by using the extracted common attribute information.
