PURPOSE: A waste supply separation unit of a surge tank for a hot/cold water dispenser is provided to reduce the actuation of a cooler reducing the temperature of cold water and the actuation of a heater raising the temperature of hot water, thereby preventing the waste of energy. CONSTITUTION: A waste supply separation unit of a surge tank for a hot/cold water dispenser includes a supporting part (11b), a first water supply transferring protrusion (11c), a second water supply transferring protrusion (11d), and a check valve (12). The supporting part is formed at the lower peripheral surface of a container body containing water from above. The supporting part having multiple grooves (11a) supports the inner peripheral surfaces of a surge tank (1). The first water supply transferring protrusion protrudes from the lower side of the container body, and is coupled to the water supply outlet (1b) of the surge tank. The second water supply transferring protrusion is formed at the lower side or the outer peripheral surface of the container body. The check valves are respectively installed at the first and the second water supply transferring protrusion, and prevent the backflow of cold water or hot water to the water inside the container body.
