PURPOSE: An apparatus for predicting a patent lawsuit, a method for the same, and a computer-readable recording medium in which a program for the same is recorded are provided to predict an opponent who can file a patent lawsuit to registered patent, thereby helping preparation for the patent lawsuit in advance. CONSTITUTION: A data storage unit (110) stores information which is used for calculating a conformance with a patent lawsuit. A patent lawsuit conformance calculator (120) calculates a patent lawsuit conformance score considering the number of claims, the number of domestic and international family patents, the number of forward citations, and a correlation analysis between changes of ownership and propensities of patentees, using the information stored in the data storage unit. The patent lawsuit conformance calculator predicts probability of the patent lawsuit by comparing the patent lawsuit conformance score with an average patent lawsuit conformance score of a patent classification to which a target patent belongs.
