The mattress (10) has a layer of independent and adjacent blocks (12) that is made out of foam, where the blocks are connected by a set of stitches (P) for seams to form a hinged and breathable block structure. An envelope is provided in the mattress, where the layer of independent and adjacent blocks is received in the envelope. The envelope is made out of air permeable material. Each of the adjacent blocks is provided in the form of a plate whose thickness lies in the range of between 2 and 20 mm i.e. preferably between 8mm and 12mm.
