PURPOSE: A license plate recognition method and a device thereof are provided to detect sufficient image frames for a speeding vehicle, thereby increasing the accuracy of license plate recognition even for a speeding vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A first camera (21) determines a vehicle entry status through a motion detection function and outputs a signal for the vehicle entry status. If a signal indicating a vehicle entry is outputted from the first camera, a second camera (22) detects and outputs image frames of the entering vehicle. A control part (23) extracts a license plate region from the image frames of the second camera and reads license plate information from the extracted license plate region. |
