The invention aims at providing a top rod capable of lithely withstanding drawing of a fish while suppressing deformation and crack in a joining part and while forming smooth bending when the fish is caught. The top rod is constituted of an inside layer (A) and an outside layer (B), wherein the inside layer (A) is obtained by superposing a main pattern (3A) and a main pattern (3B), wherein the main pattern (3A) is obtained by cutting a first prepreg in which a reinforcing fiber (c) is arranged with a first tilting angle to rod axis (X) in a prescribed shape, the main pattern (3B) has another reinforcing fiber (c) arranged symmetrically to the reinforcing fiber (c) of the main pattern (3A) relative to the rod axis (X); and the outside layer B is obtained by superposing and arranging two auxiliary patterns (5A and 5B) having a second tilting angle in which a tilting angle of the reinforcing fiber (c) to the rod axis (X) is smaller than that of the first tilting angle group. The outside layer (B) is arranged at the rod tail end in a state in which the length in axial direction of the rod is shortened, compared with that of the inside layer (A). |
