PURPOSE: A photovoltaic module and system and an operation method thereof are provided to calculate power for each voltage according to a power-to-voltage curve when a hot spot is generated, thereby easily calculating a maximum power point. CONSTITUTION: An input current detection part in a junction box detects an input current supplied from a solar cell module (S610). A control part determines whether the detected input current is less than a reference value (S620). If the detected input current is less than the reference value, the control part calculates maximum power according to a first maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm (S630). If the detected input current is equal to or bigger than the reference value, the control part calculates maximum power according to a second MPPT algorithm (S640).
