<p>The present invention provides a battery temperature estimation device for estimating the temperature of a battery of a battery system including the battery and a cooling device for cooling the battery. The battery temperature estimation device calculates, on the basis of the heat capacity of the temperature detection unit of a temperature detection means located away from the battery and the cooling capacity of the cooling device, a first temperature variation function representing a temperature variation detected by the temperature detection means when cooled by the cooling device, and calculates, on the basis of the heat capacity of the battery and the cooling capacity of the cooling device, a second temperature variation function representing a temperature variation of the battery when cool-down is performed by the cooling device. Then, the battery temperature estimation device calculates the difference between the calculated first temperature variation function and second temperature variation function, and estimates the temperature of the battery on the basis of the calculated difference, the temperature detected by the temperature detection means and the amount of temperature increase associated with the amount of heat generated by the battery.</p> |
