PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved atherectomy device for removing a material from occluded body lumens.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the invention provides the device for removing a material from a body lumen including: a catheter having a proximal end, a distal end, and a catheter lumen extending therethrough; a cutter assembly rotatably coupled to the distal end of the catheter; and a rotatable torque shaft extending through the catheter lumen and having a first end coupled to the cutter assembly and a second end constituted so as to be coupled to a rotating mechanism, wherein an outer surface of the torque shaft includes an raised surface and the raised surface is spirally located on the outer surface of the torque shaft so that the raised surface conveys materials to the proximal direction. |
