PURPOSE: An auto-focusing control method for a digital optical apparatus is provided to obtain and store the focused image data by only pressing a shutter. CONSTITUTION: An auto-focusing control method for a digital optical apparatus comprises the following step of: detecting the focusing value of the image data for focusing that is output from an image sensor unit (20) while a lens (11) moves in focusing mode by an unit interval, and ensuring the optimal focusing location of lens that has the optimal focusing value through the detected focusing value; detecting the focusing value of the image data for function that is initially output from the image sensor unit after the mode is converted to the function mode, and resetting the critical range based on the detected focusing value as the reference value; detecting the function value of the image data for function in the function mode later on; and maintaining the function mode when the focusing value is in the critical range by comparing the critical range that is reset in the step of resetting the critical range and the focusing value that is detected in the step of detecting focusing value, and performing the step of the auto-focusing (AF) and resetting the critical range again by converting the mode to the focusing mode when the focusing value is out of the critical range.
