A composition which comprises: a liquid crystal compound represented by formula (1) U1-V1-W1-X1-Y1-X3-Y2-X2-W2-V2-U2 (1) [wherein X1, X2 and X3 independently represent an optionally substituted 1,4-phenylene group or the like, provided that at least one of X1, X2 and X3 represents an optionally substituted 1,4-phenylene group; Y1 and Y2 independently represent -CH2CH2- or the like; Ra and Rb independently represent a hydrogen atom or the like; U1 represents a hydrogen atom or a polymerizable group and U2 represents a polymerizable group; V1 and V2 independently represent an optionally substituted C1-20 alkanediyl group; and W1 and W2 independently represent a single bond or the like]; and a liquid crystal compound represented by formula (2) [wherein A1 and A2 independently represent an optionally substituted 1,4-phenylene group; A3(s) independently represent an optionally substituted 1,4-phenylene group or the like; A4 represents a phenyl group or the like; B1, B2 and B3 independently represent -O- or the like; T1 represents an optionally substituted C1-11 alkanediyl group; n represents an integer of 1-3; and Z represents a polymerizable group]. |
