An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the number of pins of a timing controller and a level shifting unit by supplying one clock signal to a level shifter. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes an LCD panel(150), a timing controller(100), a level shifting unit(120), and a gate driver(140). The LCD panel includes display and non-display areas. The timing controller generates a clock signal, and first and second gate start pulses. The level shifting unit generates plural gate shift clock signals by shifting the first gate start pulse according to the clock signal, and outputs the gate shift clock signals and the second gate start pulse through level shifting. The gate driver sequentially drives gate lines using the gate shift clock signals and the second gate start pulse. |
