PURPOSE: A driving device of a three-phase motor is provided to improve the efficiency of operating a reciprocating compressor by using improved inverter topology and to reduce the generation of an over current. CONSTITUTION: A driving device of a three-phase motor includes a converter (10), an inverter (30), a pair of DC link capacitors (20), an opening/closing unit (50), and a control unit (50). The convertor rectifies input AC current power into DC power. The inverter is arranged on the front end of the three-phase motor and converts the DC power into motor driving power based on inverter control signals, thereby applying the motor driving power to the three-phase motor. The DC link capacitor is arranged between the converter and the inverter. The opening/closing unit is arranged between a point in which the pair of DC link capacitors is serially connected and a center point of the converter and opened/closed according to opening/closing signals. The control unit generates the opening/closing signals according to a load of the three-phase motor, thereby outputting the same to the opening/closing unit.
