PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device having a developer carrier with a regular asperity shape on the surface and stably carrying a desired amount of toner on the surface of the developer carrier, and to provide an image forming apparatus including the developing device.SOLUTION: A development device 4 includes: a development roller 42 the surface of which endlessly moves with its carrying a toner T on the surface and supplying the toner with a latent image at a development range α facing a photoreceptor 2; and a doctor blade 45 in which a free end side of a plate-like member one end of which is supported by a blade folder 45a, comes into contact with the surface of the development roller 42 and that regulates the amount of toner heading for the development range α. The development device 4 includes, on the surface of the development roller 42, a regular asperity shape in which the height of protruding portions 42a and the depth of recessed portions 42b are substantially fixed, and a material of the doctor blade 45 is metal. |
