PURPOSE: A method for selecting and outputting a vehicle sound and a device thereof are provided for a user to select a desired sound by providing multiple sounds to an electrical vehicle in the off state of a motor. CONSTITUTION: An input part (310) provides a user interface enables a user to select one from sounds including an engine sound, an exhaust sound and a horn sound of a vehicle. A storing part (320) stores the selected sound. The storing part comprises an external memory and an internal memory. The control part (330) outputs the sound corresponding to each state to a speaker part by sensing the driving state of a vehicle. The control part only outputs an engine sound 1 only in the transmission of P. The control part outputs the engine sound 1 and an exhaust sound 2 in the transmission of R, N and D.
