PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric fence and an electric power unit capable of operating with a low power consumption by passing a large current through an electric wire only when an animal comes in contact with the electric wire.SOLUTION: The electric fence 1 is used to prevent the invasion of an animal by passing an electric current through an electric wire 3 stretched around a field, which includes: a power source 102; a DC-DC converter 104 for converting a voltage of the power source 102 into a high voltage for supply to the electric wire; a current sensor 106 for detecting a current that flows from the electric wires 3 to the ground when an animal comes in contact with the electric wire 3; and a current generator 108 for passing the large current through the electric wire 3 in response the current detected by the current sensor 106. |
