The cable drum unit (10) has a brake assembly (30) through which a rotation of a cable drum is released or stopped. An operating element (34) is provided to deactivate the brake assembly, when the driving apparatus is provided for rotating the cable drum. A synchronizing brake (24) of brake assembly is connected with a variable diameter of a braking device (26). The braking device is contacted with the synchronizing brake during larger diameter of braking device, and is disengaged from the synchronizing brake during smaller diameter.
