PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and sheet feeding device by which attaching operation of a separation unit can be easily executed.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device 1 includes a first feeding guide 94 configured to guide a fed sheet 9, a feeding roller 71 feeding the sheet 9, a separation unit 79 arranged so as to face the feeding roller 71 and configured to separate the sheet one by one by sandwiching the sheet 9 with the feeding roller 71, and a holding portion 100 configured to detachably hold the separation unit 79 and configured to move to an approaching position approaching to the first feeding guide 94 and a separating position separating from the first feeding guide 94, and a pushing and pressing portion configured to push and press the separation unit 79 to the feeding roller 71 when the holding part 100 is located the approaching position. The pushing and pressing portion is configured so as to be separated from the separation unit 79 when the holding portion 100 is located in the separating position. |
