PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller which, in the case of presetting a recording and reproducing apparatus to record a broadcast program received by a receiver of an external apparatus, allows for reliable preset.SOLUTION: A remote control code for a receiver for the broadcast medium of a program to be recorded and a remote control code for the recording and reproducing apparatus comprising an external input terminal interconnected with the receiver are associated with respective identifiers and stored in a remote control code storage unit. A recording preset information storage unit receives selection input of a recording preset program from an electronic program guide for a broadcast medium displayed on a display screen, and stores information on the selected recording preset program. A remote control code for recording the selected recording preset program is read out of the remote control code storage unit and sent to the receiver for receiving the recording preset program and the recording and reproducing apparatus. |
