<p>Preparing a roving (10) from a fiber reinforced plastic, comprises: dosing a binder material (9) into an air channel of the fuel gas nozzle (1), through which a transport fluid flows; burning a fuel gas or oxygen mixture in the fuel gas nozzle or in a burner chamber associated with the fuel gas nozzle, and applying the heated binder material on and in the roving by the fluid stream of the fuel gas nozzle; and adjusting the roving to its width upon a change of the distance of the individual fibers to a desired dimension prior to applying the binder material using an adjustable spreading device. Preparing a roving for producing a preform of a component from a fiber reinforced plastic, comprises (a) dosing a binder material (9) into an air channel of the fuel gas nozzle (1), through which a transport fluid flows, (b) burning a fuel gas or oxygen mixture in the fuel gas nozzle or in a burner chamber associated with the fuel gas nozzle, and applying the heated binder material on and in the roving by the fluid stream of the fuel gas nozzle, and (c) adjusting the roving to its width upon a change of the distance of the individual fibers to a desired dimension directly prior to applying the binder material using an adjustable spreading device. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Producing an infiltratable preform, comprising (i) conducting the roving via an adjustable unit for varying its breadth, which is withdrawn from a supply spool, (ii) spraying the heated binder material using the fuel gas nozzle, and (iii) storing and pre-consolidating on a surface of a tool or an existing layer depending on the load; and (2) the fuel gas nozzle for spraying the heated binder material on and into the roving, which is associated with an access for the transport fluid, preferably compressed air, and is in fluid communication with an inlet (11) for the binder material, where an inlet is associated with a dosing device for the binder material, and the transport fluid and the binder material flow in the vicinity of an outlet (2) in the burner chamber.</p> |
