PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle navigation apparatus for preventing a vehicle from being stolen. SOLUTION: The vehicle navigation apparatus includes a current position detecting means for detecting the current position of the vehicle; a storage means for storing facility data and map data; an input means for designating destination; an output means; and a control means for searching an optimal route to the destination by using the map data and guiding the route through the output means, if the destination is designated by the input means. The facility data includes at least positions and types of facilities, and theft information. The control means determines whether the destination is the high-theft facility, based on the theft information at the destination, detects whether there is the high-theft facility whose type is the same as the destination within a predetermined range from the destination, when the destination is not the high-theft facility, and outputs a theft warning via the output means, if it detects that there is the high-theft facility whose type is the same as that of the destination.
