摘要 <p>The method comprises treating an uneven forehead area (11) of an edge of an workpiece (10), which has a thickness or strength, and directing a laser beam (20) in vertical direction on the forehead area. The diameter of the laser beam is selected so that it is same or larger than the strength of the flat workpiece. The intensity of the laser beam is selected so that the metallic material of the workpiece is melted in the area of the forehead side. The laser beam is directed with a welding laser head under the application of the laser beam along the forehead area. The method comprises treating an uneven forehead area (11) of an edge of a workpiece (10), which has a thickness or strength, and directing a laser beam (20) in vertical direction on the forehead area. The diameter of the laser beam is selected so that it is same or larger than the strength of the flat workpiece. The intensity of the laser beam is selected so that the metallic material of the workpiece is melted in the area of the forehead side. The laser beam is directed with a welding laser head under the application of the laser beam along the forehead area and irradiates the total forehead area of the workpiece. The melted metallic material is subjected under retention of a surface existing through surface tension for cooling and hardening after departing the welding laser head with the laser beam from the respective irradiated area of the forehead surface. The connection process of workpieces and/or section of the workpieces and/or further edge treatment process on another forehead area are carried out before and/or after irradiating the total forehead area of the workpiece with the same welding laser head and its laser beam. The component is determined with its workpiece in a setting and then the welding laser head is led by a robot arm over the edges of the component to be connected. During the melting of the metallic material, the forehead area of the workpiece form a forming gas of atmosphere around the emerging melt bath (30) in order to obtain a protection against oxidation. The laser beam is selected with a diameter of 1.5 mm and a width of 2.0 mm in strength of the workpiece of 0.8-1.5 mm. The laser beam is selected with a power of 400-1000 Watt. The feed speed of the laser beam is selected along the forehead area of the workpiece is 0.02 m/s.</p>
