PURPOSE: A thin film transistor array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the distortion of signals inputted to a pixel by reducing contact resistance. CONSTITUTION: A pixel link electrode (LK1) is formed on a passivation layer (152) and connects a drain electrode (112) of a thin film transistor (TFT) to a pixel electrode (114) through a first contact hole (CH1) and a second contact hole (CH2). A shading cover (BLSP) is formed on the passivation layer in the shape of a pattern surrounding the edge of the pixel area. The shading cover and the pixel link electrode are formed with a first metal having the same resistivity. The resistivity of the first metal is lower than the resistivity of the pixel link electrode.
