<p>PURPOSE: A method and a system for reducing excessive processing by a central processing unit (CPU) when playing a panorama video on a web page are provided to prevent a load caused by excessive processing of a CPU generated when playing a panorama video stored in a web server by using a dedicated playback program. CONSTITUTION: A transmission/reception device transmits and receives signals and data to and from a web server, and a mass storage device stores a source video received from the transmission/reception device. A system memory is loaded with a playback program to play the panorama video. A CPU requests the execution of the playback program for the source video, which is stored in the mass storage device and into which a first through an nth scene image are merged, from the system memory. If sphere function in the playback program is called, the playback program forcibly calls delay function immediately and notifies the CPU of fixed frame-by-frame playback replacing real-time playback.
