PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal porous body suitable for a current collector for batteries, a filter, a catalyst carrier, and the like, excellent in both strength and toughness, having a low cost, and applicable to a wide range of materials, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing a metal porous body includes the steps of: applying a coating material at least to a skeletal surface of a three-dimensional network resin having a communicating hole to form a conductive coating layer, the coating material containing at least one or more particulates selected from the group consisting of metal particulates and metal oxide particulates having a volume average particle size of 10 μm or less and a carbon powder having a volume average particle size of 10 μm or less; forming at least one or more metal plated layers; and performing removal of the three-dimensional network resin, reduction of the metal particulates or the metal oxide particulates and the metal plated layer, and thermal diffusion, by heat treatment. |
