PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial gap rotary electric machine having improved assemblability and excellent reliability in low cost.SOLUTION: In an axial gap rotary electric machine having rotors on both faces of a stator in a shaft direction thereof, a holding member 1 composed of a non-conducting and nonmagnetic material, holding a stator core, and wound around with a coil is configured such that at least outer peripheral side portions of flanges 2, 2' are more rigid than that of other portions of the flanges, and the rigid outer peripheral side portions are positioned with a stepped structure of a housing, thereby holding the holding member 1 with respect to the housing in the shaft direction. |
