PURPOSE: A sodium-sulfur battery is provided to block the supply of sodium to prevent additional reactions when the reaction of sodium and sulfur is conducted by the damage of a solid electrolyte pipe, thereby having excellent use safety. CONSTITUTION: A sodium-sulfur battery comprises a positive electrode container (101) accommodating molten sulfur which is impregnated into a conductive material (103) for a positive electrode; a cartridge (105) accommodating molten metal sodium; a solid electrolyte pipe (107) selectively transmitting sodium ions and accommodating the cartridge; and a reactant (109) which is filled into a space between the cartridge and the solid electrolyte pipe and reacts by reaction heat generated by the reaction between the sodium and sulfur.
